Development introduction

The key laboratory of molecular imaging of Harbin Medical University was established in 2004, relying on Heilongjiang Provincial Medical Imaging Research Institute, which is the first molecular imaging research center and clinical transformation base in north-east of China. Laboratory was approved as Key Laboratory of Heilongjiang Provincial Universities by Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Educationin 2010.
Professor Shen Baozhong was appointed as director of the laboratory, and Professor Chen Xiaoyuan who came from National Institutes of Health (NIH) was appointed as director of Academic Committee. The laboratory has a constant staff of 46 people, including 24 senior staff, 14 intermediate staffand 8 junior staff, 54% of them hasdoctorate.
After 12 years of development, the laboratory construction area had expanded to 5,000 square meters, laboratory has central laboratory of molecular biology, small animal imaging chamber, chemical synthesis chamber, SPF animal laboratory, precision instrument room, clean level animal laboratory, animal operating room, office of Graduate students, conference room, reading room and various large equipment rooms. The total value of instruments are more than 90 million yuan, including 34 species of equipment more than 100,000 yuan. Laboratory has several imaging and molecular imaging instruments, including xenogen small animal in vivo imaging instrument, research-based TOF-PET/CT/MR imaging system, 3.0T MR imaging system, 1.5T MR imaging system, 320 slice spiral CT, SPECT, editcyclotronandhigh performance liquid EDS etc, with these instruments we can conduct radionuclide imaging with 18F, 64Cu, 68Ga,11C and magnetic resonance imaging with 19F, 31P, 23Na, 13C, 1H etc. Moreover, laboratory havemolecular biologyexperiment instruments, including flow cytometry, immunofluorescence microscopy, quantitative PCR, frozen section machine etc.
Currently, laboratory takes thedomestic leading position in the field of molecular imaging.
