Dr. Li earned a medical degree in1993 from Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences, China, a Ph.D. in medical sciences in 2003 from Kanazawa University, Japan, and a residency at Harbin Medical University. He completed his nuclear medicine fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. After his period as a research fellow, he was recruited as a fulltime faculty at University of Louisville. He is also serving as PET/CT center director at Harbin Medical University the 4th Affiliated Hospital. Dr. Li served as President of Chinese American Society of Nuclear Medicine from 2011 to 2013.
Dr. Li is a physician scientist with solid background in radiology-nuclear medicine, oncology, cancer biology, molecular imaging and animal model of human diseases. His researches focus on hypoxia, angiogenesis, glucose metabolism and molecular imaging of microenvironments of cancer and its metastasis for better cancer care. He has 23 years’ experience in clinical nuclear medicine, translational molecular imaging and oncology.
Dr Li has coauthored more than 40 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals such as in cancer research and Journal of Nuclear Medicine. He also serves as editor and reviewer for numerous international academic journals. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences on molecular imaging and cancer research.
